Mr. Donut

We love to eat.  I mean, Andy and I love food like it was a person and we'd marry it except we are already married to each other.

We went to various Mr. Donut locations about 4 times in two weeks - Akihabara, Nagoya, Shibuya - and all of them were really fun.  I didn't accumulate enough on my point card to get a toy, so we just bought one!  It made me laugh that my sister-in-law had enough to get two mugs!  So we had our morning coffees in Mr. Donut mugs every day.

They definitely taste different than American donuts - a bit spongier and lighter, but very good.  I even tried a "curry" donut in Akiba (spoiler: it was awesome)

  2. I don't think they were as good as American Donuts- they were definitely healthier-- like when you get a no fat brownie-- you realize that it's healthier because it's kind of bland.

The best one was the bumpy one in the third photo. Mister Donut actually puts that around a cartoon cat to make it a lion's mane.

  9. This just made me hungry!
I don't particularly like american donuts, they feel to fat and greasy to eat. I wonder if I'd like the taste of the ones from Japan.

  10. The first time I went to Mr. Donut, I have to admit I realllyyy disliked their donuts. It just looked so pretty and delicious, but I have to say I'm afraid to try it again because it tasted so awful. Perhaps I just went to a less popular store and it wasn't fresh, or maybe it was the flavor. Have you tried the matcha frosting donut? I'm not sure if it was limited time.
