The Male Gaze

Because the hashtag #YesAllWomen is trending, finding this scene at a thrift store was all too fitting.

Batman Series prints available now

Hello friends,

Hope everybody had a good Memorial Day weekend - I am really slacking when it comes to updating my blog regularly, there is just too much to do!

The opening was really fun, the place got really packed at 8pm - and there were lots of sales!  Art buyers are special people, aren't they?

Finished making some really glorious ink jet prints (if I do say so myself - because it was SUCH a pain and required lots of Epson technical paroozal) but totally worth it because they are so beautiful…

Prints are 8.5"x11" inkjet on archival Epson art paper, matte

$25.00 each or

2 for $40 // 3 for $50 // 4 for $60 // 5 for $75

Here's what the full print looks like :

Report from Brimfield

Andy, myself and our friend Jim went to the big Brimfield Antique Fair this Tuesday, and it was such a party!

We've been so many times now I think at some point I'll do a guide about it…

I know where all the good bathrooms are after all, hehe
Anyway, took lots and lots of reference shots for the comics I'm working on right now, super helpful.  Had been looking for a light field jacket for the spring and wouldn't you know it, first tent we go in (yellow and white stripey one in the front) BAM find a jacket.  AW YEAH.  Good omens….

I bought some gorgeous white coral from this seller - couldn't decide which kind - they were all so lovely!  In 2008 I passed up some white coral from a antique fair in Des Moines, IA - so it was great to find it here in abundance and for less.

Jim bought an amazing space-kid book and some vintage ice cream shoppe die cuts for his garage (he makes amaaaaazing and legendary home-made ice cream!)

for goodness' sake

love vintage containers…

my dream studio drawers.  For all my works on paper and art supplies

Someday!

Johnny Sokko / Giant Robo

recent commission

I love working on J's commissions because all of his requests are so awesome.
Here's some footage of the Johnny Socko (or Sokko?) TV show, the original 60s Japanese version being called simply "Giant Robo" ジャイアントロボー

These American/Italian appropriates of Japanese shows and properties really make me laugh, not just with the terrible dubbing, but the complete lack of accreditation for the original Japanese creators.

They don't list the original producers, actors, designers or crew in some versions or they push the names to the very end, all the while sticking in their own production credits right in front!  Sillybillies.

Anyway, super fun - thanks, J!
