Jughead 2 Variant
Had a great time doing this Jughead variant cover for issue 2!
Here is the real reference I used for the car, which is actually not a Triumph or MG I don't believe - anybody know what it really is?
I've always wanted a hunter green vintage convertible. Ahh someday....
I remembered this car toy from when I was a kid, and thought it'd be fun to use it

I signed my initials on the ketchup and my husband's name on the grape soda
Veronica wears rings I own
I built a little Pop's Diner logo for the bags
(Can you tell I love Rocko's Modern Life?)
The food was retro fit into the initial drawing.

Rushmore piece in Wall Street Journal
I didn't realize that in addition to VOGUE, my piece was included in the Wall Street Journal coverage of Spoke Art's BAD DADS show as well. Spoke has the best PR people!

Archie Comics #5 + #6
I'm really psyched to say I'll be drawing issues 5 + 6 of ARCHIE!
It's a bit nerve-wracking to follow two supremely talented ladies like Fiona Staples and Annie Wu, but it's happening and I better step up!
Here is a promo image and a link to more info:

Rushmore painting for BAD DADS in NYC
Sometimes your life is just so busy you can't see the forest through the trees - but happily after much fretting I was able to get this little painting off to the Joseph Gross Gallery x Spoke Art Pop-Up in NYC for this weekend.
If you are in Manhattan you can stop by this lovely show and see my piece!
goauche + ink on Arches cold press paper | $400 | 11"x14"
I thought it was really cool Vogue + Spoke included my piece in their press kit

Art Supply Favorites: Holbein Acryla Gouache

Holbein Acryla Gouache is hands-down my all time favorite paint - IN THE WORLD!!
Have my eye on buying this set of 102 colors when I'm in Nagoya this fall because you only live once and it's necessary for work.
They seem expensive in the US, but my small supply has lasted me 5 years of
paintings! I'm estimating 30 - 40 paintings, therefore my return on
investment has been HUGE and totally worth it.

I've used Liquitex, Golden, cheap to expensive brands, and this is the only kind of paint I ever use.
If you are in Massachusetts you can buy it at my local shop C.C Lowell's!
Nothing else comes close to the smooth viscosity, the saturated color, the matte dry finish, the light-fastness or the life of the paint itself.
Every painting I do, all my work in this material: (Twin Peaks, for example:)
Batman series:
UNSCANABLE - amazingly brilliant color!
Brak in "Luminous Red":
